I’ve always liked the proportions of the original Mercedes CLS but also have always thought the bottom of the front bumper on non-AMG models is a little too high off the ground relative to the styling of the sides and rear of the car. Doesn’t seem so bad to me here though.

Oh man the gangsters are picking these up cheap these days, it’s turned that corner. They will end up gutted when they won’t fix something expensive. But they put some ugly ass wheels on them!

Counterpoint: A slightly higher front bumper is a good thing if it prevents people from ripping it off on curbs or these things:

Parking blocks are hellspawn.

(In the garage at work, the spaces facing the wall have no parking blocks. Spaces with railings in front of them do have parking blocks. I’ve resorted to only parking facing the wall. I still have to maneuver around pillars, but at least I can rely on my parking sensors to help me gauge how far I am from the wall and I don’t have to worry about scraping the shit out of my bumper.)

I seem to recall when the CLS first arrived, the press at the time said stuff like, “Mercedes makes a Jaguar.”

Well lol, yea. I wonder how the timeline of Jag - Merc - CLS went.

I was driving with a friend once and she absentmindedly drove her Corolla over one of these. I’ll never forget the hellish noise it made or the simultaneous look we gave each other.

I think that’s why people buy crossovers now.
